The clarity of a tap
With the chemical scent of May
Blossoms on the bank
As a dancing cloud of caddis smotes
Rise and fall
The drift above the submerged flowing water weeds
Trailing waving emerald Crowfoot strands
Beneath the hard vertical sway of reedmace
And glint of surfacing watercress
Green shoulders
To use this glassy trout channel
Between black walls of watching alders
In their shawls of vivid sequins
Thrown
Where loud candy-bright kingfishers perch
